What Areas Can Be Treated?

Although the BBL™ hair removal treatment can target many parts of the body, the most common areas include the:

How do BBL™ Laser Hair Removal Treatments Feel?

The treatments are unlikely to result in severe pain or discomfort, but Dr. Karaca still uses a cooling system during the procedure. Depending on a patient’s sensitivity, he may prefer to use a topical anesthetic. In order to ensure optimal results, discuss your sensitivity concerns with the doctor before scheduling the treatments.

How Many BBL™ Laser Hair Removal Treatments Will I Need?

Dr. Karaca recommends three to five treatments applied at five to eight-week intervals to ensure great results. The success of the procedure is usually dependent upon various factors including hair thickness, the hair’s growth cycle, and the area treated.

The three stages of hair growth are anagen, catagen, and telogen. The BBL™ laser hair removal treatment can only treat hair in the anagen phase, which is also referred to the active growth phase. Because the hairs are not always in the same growth stage, you will need multiple treatment sessions to ensure that all of the hairs are completely removed from the targeted area.

What Happens During BBL™ Laser Hair Removal?

Throughout the treatment, your eyes will be completely protected with glasses or safety shields. After a clear gel is applied to your skin, a cooled applicator will deliver light energy to the targeted areas. Patients may notice a warm or stinging sensation during the treatment session.

How long does a BBL™ Hair Removal treatment take?

The length of the procedure is dependent upon your hair and skin type and the size of the area being treated. While an upper lip can be treated in roughly one minute, larger areas like your back may require additional time. Dr. Karaca can usually treat your back in about half an hour. The doctor will be happy to discuss these options with you.

How long will it take to recover from BBL™ Hair Removal?

Because the BBL™ hair removal treatment is a gentle and non-invasive procedure, you can expect an extremely short recovery time. In most cases, you can continue your regular activities immediately after the treatment.

What happens after BBL™ Hair Removal?

Immediately after the BBL™ hair removal treatment, your skin may appear slightly red. This redness usually goes away on its own within a few hours. You may also notice a regrowth of hair within a week after treatment. These are not growing hairs. The BBL™ hair removal treatment actually causes these hairs to shed. The doctor can provide you with more important information about the potential short-term side effects and the benefits of the treatment.

What aftercare will I need following BBL™ Hair Removal?

Aftercare typically involves keeping the treated area clean and using a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 15 when outdoors. You should also carefully follow Dr. Karaca’s instructions.

Why Do People Get Laser Hair Removal?

In areas where people may prefer to have no hair, waxing, and shaving methods are only temporary. Laser removal allows for permanent removal of excess hair.

How Many Treatments Does It Take to Permanently Remove Unwanted Hair?

Laser hair removal is typically most successful with approximately eight sessions, but results vary with each client. Touch-up treatments may be necessary over time. Generally, a hair growth reduction of 10 to 25 percent can be expected with each treatment.

Who Is A Good Candidate For Laser Hair Removal?

Unless pigment is absent from the hair (light blond or white hair), most patients respond to laser removal. Laser removal targets the follicle of each hair using pigment. The ideal candidate has light skin and dark, coarse hair. Lasers are adjustable, however, to treat most skin and hair types. Patients with light hair or dark skin types may require more treatments and special adjustments to the laser to further protect the skin. Dr. Karaca is highly qualified and trained to tailor treatment to your unique skin and hair type. To find out if you’re a candidate for laser removal, contact us today.

Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?

Some discomfort that may occur can be managed with topical anesthetic, but typically laser hair removal is not painful. A gradual heating of the target area is normal, and when the hair is dense, a temporary prickling sensation may be felt.

How Much Does Laser Hair Removal Cost in Detroit?

After evaluation of your target area(s), Dr. Karaca will discuss your best options with you and the cost. Financing  options are available.
