What Happens During Juvederm® Treatment?

The first step to take if you’re interested in Juvederm® is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Karaca. This will allow you to fully discuss your specific desires and goals for your cosmetic treatment. Additionally, it will provide you with the opportunity to review your medical history and any concerns that you may have. During this appointment, you can expect to cover precise recommendations for treatment, expected outcomes and the exact cost for your treatment.

After your consultation, you will be advised on scheduling your treatment appointment. This appointment will be quick and comfortable, often called a “lunchtime appointment” for its ease and speed. During the Juvederm® procedure, no extra medication or numbing agents are necessary. Juvederm® contains lidocaine which serves to aid in patient comfort.

Dr. Karaca is specially trained to inject Juvederm® using the most effective techniques, allowing for even distribution beneath the surface of the skin. Along with the injection, a gentle hand massage of the target area may be required to ensure smooth and even placement. This will also help to soothe the skin.

Juvederm® results are immediate, and there is no significant downtime or healing requirements. It is possible for skin to feel taut with some swelling and redness, but these effects are temporary and can be minimized with an ice pack applied to the impacted area. All symptoms should subside within 24 hours.

Typically, your smooth, revitalized skin lasts up to one year before Juvederm® begins to break down. In order to minimize changes to the skin’s appearance, maintenance appointments may be scheduled. In this appointment, a lesser amount of Juvederm® is injected to prolong the effect and keep lines and wrinkles from reforming.

What Makes Juvederm® Injections Better?

Juvederm® is preferred to collagen fillers for a number of reasons, including:
